Hello, my name is Christina Espinoza. I was born and raised in Rancho Cucamonga, California. In 2002 I graduated from California Baptist University with my bachelor’s degree in liberal studies with a minor in human development and from Chapman University in 2003 with my teaching credential and master’s in teaching. Currently I am attending Concordia University of Irvine in which I hope to graduate with a master’s in administrative education in July 2021.
I have been a public-school teacher for 18 years. My first 8 years I taught at a K-4 elementary school teaching 3rd and 4th grade and for the last 10 years I have had the pleasure of teaching at a 6th-8th grade middle school in which I am an 8th grade Language Arts, Social Studies, and ELD teacher. Along with the responsibilities of being a full-time teacher, I also am the English Language Development department chair, English Language Development coach for my district, a member of the visible learning team, and president of the school site council.
Education was not always what I had wanted to do. I envisioned myself as a businesswoman working in the fashion industry. My love for education came when I got a job as a lunch proctor. From there I volunteered my time in classrooms and soon after that I changed my major to education. The connections I made with teachers and students was very rewarding and I knew right then and there I wanted to be a teacher. From that point forward I have immersed myself in my profession and nothing is more gratifying for me than to know that I make a difference in my students lives every day.
As a future administrator I hope to have the opportunity to continue to make a difference in students, staff, and the community.
