Dear Michelle Dynes:
Thank you for the opportunity to apply for the principal role at our district. After reviewing the job description, it’s clear that you’re looking for a candidate that is extremely familiar with the responsibilities associated with the role and can perform them confidently. Ever since I started teaching at Central School District, I have been passionate in my commitment to three things: maximizing individual student performance, inspiring students’ interest in technology and instilling a sense of self-worth among all students. I have dedicated my career to each of these pursuits, as my enclosed resume will attest.
That’s why I was excited to see the advertisement for a principal position at our district. Central School District has earned a positive reputation for celebrating diversity, achieving academic excellence and using technology as a learning tool. It would be an honor to now use the tools I have acquired by working for this district for 19 years and apply them by helping the district Monitor Student Progress and Performance to Support the District LCAP Goals. It is important for me to serve a district that maintains high educational standards and provides students and staff with opportunities for personal growth.
My qualifications include 8 years of elementary teaching experience, 11 years of middle school experience, 2 years as the ELD district coach, 3 years as the ELD department chair, 3 years as President of the School Site Council, BA degree in liberal studies (elementary education), and extended education courses for continuous currency in public education. Overall, I have consistently demonstrated leadership, planning, and multitasking abilities in ever aspect of my teacher role at Central School District, and I invite you to review my detailed achievements in the attached resume.
In my most recent position as a middle school teacher for Cucamonga Middle School, I developed and taught for 7 years, 7th and 8th grade curricula for our ELD elective class. For more than 19 years, I provided effective classroom management, creative lesson plans, detailed student evaluations and highly praised instructional delivery. As an enthusiastic volunteer, I am one of three who founded 3 years ago and grew the school’s after-school culinary club, an innovative program that taught our students the basic necessities of cooking in the kitchen. The program became so popular that it was one of the school’s after-school programs that was consistently filled to capacity.
Although I enjoy my tenure at Cucamonga Middle School, I am looking forward to the possibilities of expanding my professional career in other capacities for our district. I am eager to work staff and students to bring Common Core, intervention, and a positive school climate to life while building a challenging, supportive, environment for all learners. Please feel free to contact me at 909-228-2300 or email Chrisymizy@gmail.com to set up a meeting.
Thank you for your interest and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,
Christina Espinoza
